Teaching
A curious mind that strives to understand how and why things work in the world around us is what drives my interest in learning and teaching. As a teacher I challenge students to critically think about the natural world around them so that they can begin to understand the complexity of nature. In my teaching, I integrate different learning techniques such as experiential learning, problem based group work, discussions, and case studies along with mini lectures to actively engage students in the learning process. I have developed curriculum for both face-to-face courses and online courses that engage and challenge students.
Higher education should be accessible to all those who want to learn. I provide an environment in the classroom and online that encourages engagement and active participation by all students. I realize that classrooms are filled with students of different races, sexual orientation, age, income levels, and experiences and that this diversity can enrich the learning experience. I am committed to providing the best possible environment for students to learn.
